Story 

My name is Theodore Lim and I am a personal trainer in the heart of Toronto. My coaching services are for anyone who wants to feel better, move better and become stronger. My specialty lies in strength training and mindful movement practices and I aim to educate and empower you so that you can take control of your health and fitness for the rest of your life.

For most of us, taking care of our health wasn’t part of our formal education but I believe that being able to do so is an essential life skill and I will teach you how.

I started my journey in health and fitness 12 years ago and it has helped me so much with not just my physical health but also my mental and emotional health. I was lucky enough to be involved in team sports at an early age and have always been active. When I was 16, I dove deep into strength training and powerlifting and was engulfed for close to a decade. More recently, I’ve found a sweet spot between lifting weights (mainly kettlebells and bodyweight training) and movement/mobility training. 

My evolution over the past 12 years is the reason why I am so passionate about education and making health and fitness more accessible for others. I have always loved helping people so when I first started to train others 5 years ago, it felt very natural for me and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of someone else’s journey.

In terms of education and certifications, I am a Certified Physical Preparation Specialist (CPPS), Strongfirst Kettlebell Level 1 Instructor and a Level 1 Holistic Lifestyle Coach through the Chek Institute.

Taking care of our health is a lifelong journey and it’s important to learn what works for us and what helps us feel good and perform well - not just in the gym but also outside of the gym. I used to think that training and going to the gym was the most important piece of the puzzle but I’ve learned that what we do (or don’t do) outside of the gym is just as important for our overall health.

How we sleep, what we feed our bodies and our minds and how we talk to ourselves is just as important. At the heart of it, I am all about educating you and empowering you so that you can thrive and be healthy for the rest of your life by applying the principles that I will teach you.
